That’s most of what we’ve gotten good at over 20 years.
Living in the house while we work
We paint room by room where we can, so you’re not displaced from the whole house at once. Furniture gets moved and covered, floors get papered and taped, and doorways get sealed off so dust doesn’t travel. We clean up at the end of every day — not at the end of the job.
We use low-VOC and zero-VOC paints as standard. They cost a little more and they’re worth it: minimal odor, safe to sleep in the same night, which matters if you have kids, pets, or anyone with allergies.
What we actually do before the paint
Interior work lives or dies on prep. We patch nail holes, drywall dings, and cracks. We sand down old roller texture and brush marks so the new coat lies flat. We caulk gaps where trim has pulled away from walls. We prime patches and any stains — water marks, smoke, crayon — because those bleed through otherwise, no matter how many coats go on.
Then two coats, cut in by hand at ceilings and trim.
What we paint
Walls, ceilings, trim, baseboards, crown molding, doors and door frames, closets, stairwells, and railings. Popcorn ceiling removal and drywall repair when it’s needed.
Color, if you’re stuck on it
Most people are. We’ll bring samples, and we’ll tell you honestly how a color will read in your specific light — Huntington Beach gets a lot of bright, cool afternoon light off the water, and colors that looked warm in the store can go flat in it. Sample on the actual wall before committing.
How long it takes
A single room is usually a day. A typical three-bedroom interior runs three to five days depending on ceilings, trim, and how much patching is needed. We’ll give you a real schedule with the estimate, not a vague window.
